Aloha Friday!

This week flew by! Last weekend was so full with preparations for the King Kamehameha Parade.  What an honor it was to participate and to share our respect with the islands.    This weekend has some wonderful events to think about, and hey IT'S FATHER'S DAY on Sunday!!!  If staying home and cleaning your garage isn't all you hope to do this weekend,  here's a compilation of fun-filled events happening across the island! 

Aloha Keiki Run

When: June 16

Where: Waikoloa Beach Resort

Various race distances from 100 yards to 1 mile for youth ages 1-15. All participants receive a race t-shirt, finisher's medal, & goody bag. Games, music, and fun for the whole family! Time: 8:00 am at Kona Commons Shopping Center.

MUSTACHE CONTEST!!!   Tempting...   Enjoy entertainment, games, food, displays, contest and a 5K & Family Funday at Dr. Francis Wong Stadium in Hilo from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m as the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce Cultural and Educational Center invites you to the Malasada Shuffle!

3. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

When: June 16 

Where: Hilo Recycling & Transfer Station 1471 Ho‘olaulima Rd. HiloHI 96720

Okay, this might be a silly thing to be posting about, but if you have oil, old paint, or what-evas kine yucky stuff in the back of your garage, you'll want to remember these dates.   Check the link for other dates and locations!

6. Sip & Pot - Bowl Making Class

7. Wire Wrapping Rocks: A Class for Tweens & Teens

When: June 16

Where: Hilo Public Library 300 Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720

Teens ages 12 to 18 are invited to learn how to wire wrap rocks with Alex Middleton. Keep for yourself or give to someone as a gift. Supplies are limited and registration is required. This program is free and the library will supply all of the materials for this class. All programs are subject to change.

9. Ron Artis Father's Day Party
